About Prost Bellevue Tavern
Welcome to Prost!
When the Whitlock family purchased the property at 615 Fairfield Avenue, they became the latest chapter in a story that stretches back over a century. The building had already been home to a bar for more than 100 years — and in the basement, you’ll still find old switchboards and keg chutes left over from the speakeasy days of Prohibition.
The name "Prost" came from Jim Whitlock, the family's patriarch. We wanted a name that captured the spirit of a place where everyone feels like they belong — the kind of bar where everybody knows your name. We couldn’t exactly call it "Cheers," but we could toast the same idea. “Prost” is German for “cheers,” and it’s also a nod to both our family’s roots and Cincinnati’s deep German heritage.
From there, we just filled the place with the things we love: great bourbon, imported German beers, local craft brews, and enough Busch Light to get everyone through football season.
One of our favorite features of Prost is the backyard patio, where we host cornhole leagues and community events all spring, summer, and fall.
Sure, at first glance, Prost might look like your classic Reds and Bengals sports bar — complete with a food truck out back — but once you’re here, you’ll find that it’s really about the people. Our Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati community makes Prost what it is: a local gathering place where good drinks, good company, and good times are always on tap.

From custom web design to original photography, Uptrade brought the full experience to life—showcasing our rotating drink list, late-night bottle sales, and unapologetically local vibe with style, clarity, and character.
